What sort of speaker is in that? It almost looks like a painted dome!

Curt, Tom was installing lightweight Kappalite speakers in them, and you can see a small placard in the lower front right corner of the speaker screen, which says "Kappalite Speaker" on it.

Ok thanks Chuck! I need to look into those Kappalites, as I like a speaker with an aluminum dome. They sound a little brighter to my ears. Do you know if they are about the same price as the Black Widows?

I believe they are comparable to the Black Widows from a price aspect. I saw them in the catalogs of a couple of electronics suppliers, as well as online websites. If I recall the prices of the Kappalite ranged from $130-$160 if I recall. I got mine in a swap deal here on the Steel Guitar Forum. Very happy with the sound of it, and it is much lighter than a Black Widow. I've used it in a Nashville 400 and Fender Vibrosonic, and to my ears, sounded good in both. I've seen them surface here on the forum once in a while.
