This might have to be in Electronics but since I'm planning on using it exclusively for lap steel, I thought I'd ask here.

Been offered a 1953 Montgomery Ward (Valco) Amp. It appears to be in very good condition and still has the original Rola 12" speaker. Someone has added a grounded power plug along the way.

If it helps identify it, it's got two inputs labeled guitar and microphone. The power tube is 2x6V6.

I'm looking to mate it up with a Fender of similar vintage and with my Ricky.

Anyone playing something similar and what is a fair price?

Moved to Electronics from Steel Without Pedals.

Do you have any pictures of the amp? That will help identify it better.

http://www.valcoamp.com/ will probably be helpful.

Check with the Magnatone-Valco amps group on Yahoo Groups. That is a very good place to get info on Valco amps, it's a pretty active group..
