That was fun to make. It happened last summer when I was spending a few days with Tut gathering info for an article I wrote for Fretboard Journal magazine. I'll let you know when it comes out.
Billy came by for a visit (he lives not too far from Tut) and I had arranged the tune, originally a mandolin piece, for dobro. We sat down for a minute while Tut was out of the room and I played it for Billy and he copped a harmony. Tut came back in, loved it, and said "We've got to film this right now and put it on YouTube!" He's pretty up to date for an 87 year old dobro picker. Naturally, we followed his instructions, he filmed us and there it is. |
