I was given a compilation CD recently and this great song was on it 'Cowboys to Girls' with this great steel guitar on it. Of course it came with no track list, but what I could find, it was an Intruder's song which may have been covered by a hispanic group called 'Tierra'

I'm not sure if that was it, but the singer did sound hispanic.

Does anyone know the version I heard and who was playing steel? It is very good and would love to know who did it.

Thanks, Craig

Probably the Hacienda Brothers with San Diego's Dave Berzansky on steel. A great group that lost it's main singer Chris Gaffney from cancer right when they were just starting to go to the big time.

But yes, Dave is a great player!

It was the Hacienda Brothers. I love the steel parts on that song. The player was David James "DB" Berzansky. More here:http://www.haciendabrothers.com/meet_the_band/dave_berzansky.html.

Thanks guys!!, That is definately it, just love his sound classic and cool at the same time, very laid back sound, goes to show you how steel with R&B can really go together.

I caught a glimpse of he at SXSW in Austin 6 or so years ago walking down 6th St. at the end of their set and was amazed. Sorry I didn't get to take it all in that night. Too much to see in too short a time. I will definately look for any of their material that is available.

Do you know what Dave B. is doing these days? He is a great player, especially his playing on the outro of the song, very, very cool!

Thanks Again, Craig

Thanks Rick for the You Tube, didn't come up first when I searched it. What a great live version of the song. What a bummer about Chris Gaffney, seemed to be a great guy and singer. What a great selection of material.

Thanks again! Craig
