This is my new dobro simulator in the works. I have all the parts in place and now I have to wire it up which is a tedious job.
As you can see from the pic, it has a 7band eq. This will allow for a little more control of the sound. The timbre control which is essentially a wah circuit will definately give plenty of flexibility. Te gain control is self explanstory. The eq and the timbre can operate individually or tegether with the flip of a switch. Last but not least, this unit has a true bypass. All operates on 9V.
I was wandering what people think of this. Escpecially you electrical guys. Give me your input.

The graphic EQ can "complicate the ham sandwich" for many. It's nice to have control over the sound but that can be too much control. |

Jack, You are exactly right. Adjusting the eq too much can drasticly cause more problem that it is worth. But being this is still at the development stage, I am still just experimenting so I actually want an "overcontrolled" device so I don't cut myself off to any possibilities.
Later as this progresses later on down the road, I will probrably implement "notching" on the undesired frequencies and go with less eq.
Either way, this should be fun. Just wish I had more time to work on it. |
