...players who have been in the band over the past 41 years? Extra points for those who can list the time frame each steel player occupied.
I'll start with Lucky Oceans 1969-1980.
Bobby Black/early '80's.
Dan Tyack/early '80's.
Wally Murphy/?
Carlos Claveria (Carco Clave)/?
Cindy Cashdollar/?
John Ely/?
This is only a start...reminesces welcome. Apologies to any forum members I didn't list here.

happy trails,

Joe Shelby

I may be opening for them in Napa soon. Who on steel now?

I think Jim Murphy played a little with them before he passed on.

Eddie Rivers is with them now. Big Jim Murphy played more than "a little" with them. At least a few years, doubling on sax too, as Eddie Rivers does now. I think Herb Steiner played "a little" with them, though.

Lloyd Maines played on their album "The Wheel Keeps On Rollin", also Herb Remington and Tom Morrell appeared on their Bob Wills tribute albums ("Tribute to the Music of Bob Wills" and "Ride with Bob").

Kind Regards, Walter

I was never "in" the Wheel as a member. I filled in for Lucky in 1979, for about 3 or 4 weeks while his wife Christine was having their first child. I also filled in for Cindy a gig or two a few years later.

Jeremy Wakefield briefly?

At the 40th reunion, we had myself, Eddie Rivers, Bobby Black, John Ely and Cindy Cashdollar on stage playing at the same time. There were cameras!
