Clyde Mattocks, professional full time steel player for the last 50 plus years, will be giving a free seminar for very beginning steelers on E-9, Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Forest Hills Clubhouse, Forest Hills Road, Wilson, NC. This is not a jam. This is a very beginners seminar. If you know of new players, encourage them to come. Hours 1-5 p.m.; set up starts at noon. Other players welcome, but it will be extremely basic. Clyde is a great promoter of the steel guitar, and is doing this for free; we may ask for s small donation to help cover the cost of the building rental, but it is not required. Please have anyone interested to contact me directly.

I think it is great that Clyde has agreed to teach this seminar. He is a fine steel player and a fine person as well. Here's wishing you a very successful event.

HI Bowie you can count me in on the seminar the 15th.I did not think I would be making it. We have to go and visit our daughter the one that had the cancer in Morrisville ash she is moving back to florida. The cancer is gone thank God.So she is moving the first thing in the morning the 15th and we will drive on over to Wilson.

We have quite a few sign ups so far, so this looks to be quite successful already. If you know of anyone that is just starting out on steel, be sure to let them know...Clyde is a super teacher and great player..THIS IS FOR THOSE JUST STARTING OUT- not a jam, etc..
Have anyone contact me if they have questions.

To anyone wanting to learn steel, what an opportunity! Clyde is an excellent all around musician. We needed a lead player Friday night at the Barn in LaGrange and Clyde played lead so that Kenny and I could stumble around on our steels. What a night!
Bowie, I plan on driving up to support this session in what ever way you may need some help!

I agree with my friend Glen Lanning. Clyde is an outstanding musician and you will not find a better teacher between here and Nashville.

It looks to be a good turn out for Clyde's first "Very Beginner" seminar. It on Feb. 15, Sunday from 1-5 p.m.; no one is to much a beginner. This starts from scratch and builds up so if you have friends that are beginners, or you are a beginner, don't be afraid of this learning session.

The response to the seminar has been very good; this is a seminar for the beginning player to start with the very basics. Clyde Mattocks is an accomplished professional steel player that takes a back seat to no one. He loves the steel and understands what the new player is facing. If you are a new player from square one, come to this seminar; no embarrassment. Just come enjoy the learning experience. No fee. Let me know if you need directions. If you have friends just learning, recommend this to them. The location is 1001 Forest Hills Road, NW, Wilson, NC 27896 (cell phone 252-399-1533)
