http://www.stringstation.com/

Saw a short demo of this on local cable here in Seattle. Looks like someone has found a new use for a triple neck Fender.

Anybody know what this is?... or have seen it in person?

To me it looks like a Chapman stick stuck on the front of a T-8 that has tone bars jammed up underneath the strings to serve as movable capo-like things and with some kind of pentatonic tunings set up for grabbing melodies and chords...along with a fretted guitar neck on the back, played conventionally and tapped...?

I'll bet it took a bunch of work and a lot of imagination to put it all together and skill and practice to be able to play it all live.

It kind of reminds me of Andreas Volenwieder's new-age electric harp stuff from the 80's.

I wonder what Junior Brown could do with this? ; - )

We refer to "Keyboards" coming from Pianos and Organs. Could this be called a "Fretboard" using Frets to activate notes ratther than Keys ?

He keeps talking about "3D sound". I thought sound occurred in two dimensions - time and air pressure.

Here's another great quote "I hope people pay attention to the idea of the concept." Does he know what "concept" means?

I'll bet Chas Smith has come pretty close to this already.

Looks like a sure fire money maker! Every 15 year old kid listening to Avenged Sevenfold will want one - NOT!

Looks like a waste of time and resources to me.
