Vox, Maestro, etc...
Let me know what you've got.
Will also consider vintage-inspired clones. |

I suggest you avoid that Maestro unit. The one with two knobs that looks like a doorstop. Very difficult to set up. Controls interact in a bad way.
Try the Fuzz Face Round Hendrix model or The Big Muff Pi from Electroharmonix. Both from around 1970. A new Fuzz face is arepro of the old one. Big Muff Pi same unti for many years. al |

Foxx made those for Emmons, Turtle, Sears, Regal, Univox, G&G, Foot System and Paraclete Productions.
They look like this on the inside -

I would have to differ with Al concerning the Maestro. They have a distinctive sound if that is what you are looking for (Imagine "Spirit in the Sky" where it sounds like the speaker is ready to explode). Don't look for note distinction though.
I have one purchased in 1968. The singer in the band back then had an earlier one that sounded completely different though. I used his and he used mine.
It is all a matter of what sound you are looking for, they are a unique sound as is the Fuzz Face.

Wasn't the Maestro "Fuzz tone" the unit that the Stones used on "Satisfaction"?......JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |
