Paddy - I'm not sure that web page is alive anymore. The company does not answer phone calls or e-mails. I suspect it is *really* difficult to get a new RGS and a player is probably better off finding a used one. ...or making their own. (plenty of cats in this world)

Ok Tom didn't realise that ...they are worth tracking down though, I have an 8 string Fluger/Marrs and it is brilliant.

Try Marvin Fluger's telephone number again. I just spoke to him and he is definitely answering his phone. His email has been changed to flugerguitars@roadrunner.com. He lives right down the road. The new RGS is a great instrument. Co developed with Duane Marrs.

Kevin is correct. Marv Flueger is, indeed, actively making these instruments. I just got an e-mail from him. I would recommend these new RSG instruments over the old ones. I'm thinking the cost difference is well worth it, to have the electronics on-board.

You are right in your suggestion that a new model is the best way to go, but at my age, it isn't possible for me to consider anything but an older model since price plays an important role in my search. I did go in and check them out, they are beautiful.

Having owned several of the originals as well as the newer electronics model, I can say that while the originals do a good job, and are fun simple instruments, the newer ones get a lot closer to an authentic sound.
Fred, you might find future searches turn up this thread better if you retitle it to read "RGS" as the abbreviation stands for Resonator Guitar Simulator.
Anyone typing that in might miss one labeled "RSG".

How do I re-title? Can I or do I start a new thread?

Fred, look for the edit button at the upper right of your post. You can edit the title as well as all the other copy.

Select the end of the text you want to change with your mouse cursor, then backspace and retype new text. You can select the preview button to proof read it then go back and change things to suit before you submit.
