A new steel guitar association has now formed and is located in the heartland of America. Appropriately called "Heartland Steel Guitar Association". Its function is to promote the steel guitar and everything pertaining to it. The association will have bi-monthly Jam Sessions starting Sunday, 11/21/10. Also, a steel guitar show in the spring; date to be announced later. A website is being developed and a newsletter will be published and emailed to all members.

EVERYONE is welcome to become a member. You don't have to be a steel player, just a person that likes the steel guitar. All you need to do is fill out an application. Applications are available from one of our officers or at one of our jam sessions. Membership is FREE... so why not become a member and help keep the steel guitar alive!

Officers:
President: Roger Hurst buscat@comcast.net
Vice President: Colm Chomicky
Sec/treasurer: Clint Stevenson

First jam session will be held at Roger Hurst's place of business from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. We will have a back up band, large area for musicians, food and drinks. Open to all levels of steel guitar players. Other instruments by invitation only. This is going to be FUN for all so bring your steel and join us. Best of all it's FREE!! Any questions, contact Roger Hurst.

We won't be able to attend the meetings, since they are on Sunday and two hours away (meaning we would miss church), but I want to be one of the first to wish this club the best. Hopefully we can make the show in the spring. Congrats to all and the best of luck to you all.

Hey Guys, good luck on this venture. I have the first Jam on my calendar, and plan on being there, and of course, I would be proud to become a member. Larry Baker
