What is the length of the Alumitone pickups being used on 10 string steel guitars?

Thanks. At the time I asked about that I was more interested in the width, and I didn't remember that the length was given in that old post.

Bob, The one thing you have to consider is the height.
They are higher than other pickups and mount different.
You also need to have a mounting plate on most steels.
They do have nice tone, and improve string seperation.
I have them on both of my Rittenberry's, and love them.

Funny thing,
These used to be sold as Bass Guitar pick ups.
now almost every one lists them as Steel Guitar PUs.
4.0" for 10 and 4.5" for 12 widths is what this add says.
<u>This can be some times a custom install same as other PUs,</u>
I have had to shave down the base on a table saw Whoa! with other brands but not the Alumatone.
The sides of the base are sort of wedge shaped.
Screws go through the top and you will need to drill pilot holes in hard wood.

I ended up mounting mine directly to the body to fit a Carter.... Not sure if that effects the tone for better or worse... seems ok to me.
