Although I now play Zum Steel Guitars, I decided to have my Sho-Bud Super Pro (made approximately in 1976) redone for sentimental reasons and a keepsake.
I have just been informed the endplates and changer blocks have been stolen from Doug Moss' car. He lives in White Bluff, TN. The shop where he actually polishes the plates is located in Peagram TN. If you have any information please call me at 615.459.6711 or Doug Moss at 615.646.1757.
I realize this is a long shot to get them back, but thought it was worth a try.
Thanks for your help!

Doug, I am very sorry your parts were stolen.
I know you would rather have the original parts but there is a chance that I know where there might be some parts to replace them. I don't know much about the different ShoBuds so I would need to know exactly what they are supposed to look like. There parts I am talking about are one or two ShoBud backet cases. One is a "changeover". If you or someone can get me some photos of parts like you need I would be happy to check on them.

Now this is out there..

Why would someone, anyone, steal some end plates for a Steel Guitar unless of course they knew what they were..and even at that..End plates for a Super Pro ?

This is really sad..

Doug, I sure hope you get these parts located and returned to you..

Just goes to show, some people will steal anything.

I am also sorry to hear about this and wish you the best of luck finding them.

And also thanks for all your great advice to me at ISGC, your P4 is very cool. (with a nod to J. Crawford too.)

Jerry if by this statement>

you mean "The parts I am talking about are one or two basket cases"??? and you also mention that one is a Crossover.....than NO the Endplates of a crossover won't work; nor will pretty much any Shobud Endplates earlier than a Custom or Superpro.
They would have to come from the latest Pro II Custom or Pro III Custom or Super Pro, to actually fit and work.
But hey since we're on the subject of I think "Basket Cases".....Are these Shobuds that are junked out and all the parts avaliable for say> Myself????ha....
Doug....Duane Marrs can replace those that are lost or you may ask Paul Franklin Sr. if he has some layin' around from the old days...ah...ha.

Luckily, we had the parts needed in our shop after Mr.Moss called me at home in a panic early saturday morning. Duane has replaced lots of broken brackets on Doug's guitar for years, so we might as well replace end-plates and tail-plates too.The guitar will look beautiful with the new hardware.Glad it had sort of a happy ending.Sorry I missed Doug at the shop Saturday but, had to leave for the Opry before he got there.
