Lewis Goodrich, a fine Sho Bud player passed away Friday night, Sept 24 after a lengthy illness. He played for a number of years with the Little Creek Band at the Washington, N. C. American Legion. Lewis had many friends because he was a good friend to all. Besides his expertise on the steel, he was an excellent six string guitar repairman. We'll miss him. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

me too. Lewis was my first influence on then psg. I use to go watch him play at the American Legion building in Washington. They band even let me play a number on 6 string one time. I remember how he got me started and gave me my first instruction tape of Doug Jernigan way back in the 80's. I still have the tape somewhere. I don't even think its available anymore.
I went and saw Lewis at the rest home in Febuary and we talked guitars, music, singers, etc for an hour. He seemed to be in pretty good spirits to have just had a stroke. I guess te Lord needs another player to play that "10 string instrument"
RIP Lewis
