Went and heard Jody for a little while tonight. Man, is he ever a really good and tasteful player!!!

| Taught him everything he knows. LOL. Seriously, when I first introduced Jody to the steel guitar, I knew he was going to be a great player. He had his right hand blocking down the first day. Over the years, his touch, tone, technique, and intonation has become as good as it gets. If you get a chance, go hear Jody play. He is one of the best out there. Jody. |

| I was fortunate to have taken a day class with Jody about 2 years ago... it seems like only yesterday. I think he is one of the most talented players I have ever seen. The only thing more amazing than his picking is his desire to show you everything he knows and he will try every way he can until you get it. This was one of the best experiences I have had with the steel guitar. |

Well I guess I better jump in here and say my praises on Jody's playing. He's one of the best around and a great teacher as well. Every time I've heard him play he plays something that blows my mind.

I think that the spelling is David Kirsch, (I think)
But you are right, Jody Cameron worked with David about three years. I had lunch with Jody last week and he is still doing sessions and some playing around the area. He was nominated for Steel guitar player of the year at the Dallas convention.
He is live and well and playing better than ever; and a great guy to know.
I know him as a great friend! |

| At that time I was residing in Ct. and I met Jody at the Mohegan Sun Casino when he and David were appearing in the "Wolf's Den". I introduced myself after the show and mentioned that I was a player, and from then on it was as if we were old friends. We hung out for a while and talked steel guitars, (what else), terrific guy as well as a great player. |

Met Jody when he was touring with David Kersh and we were the opening act. This must be at least ten years (if not more)ago. We've crossed paths multiple times over the years at venues we were playing. One time, when my wife and I were at a medical convention in San Antonio, the band we had hired was Zona Jones... yep, the steel player was Jody.
Always a nice guy... just wish I had a tenth as much talent!

Wow! This thread surely caught me by surprise...thanks to all of you who have said such nice things about me. I count you all among my best pals. Steel players really do share a brotherhood IMO.
Yes, I did about four years or so with David Kersh...great band at the time with John Carroll on guitar and Bobby Flores on fiddle, among others.
David, I remember the Mohegan Sun Casino very well! We did a lot of shows in the Northeast back then.
I went back to school in 2009 and have been working as a funeral director/embalmer now for about 1 yr. during the day. I just don't have the time to play as much as I used to. I don't miss the road, but I do miss sleeping all day and playing music at night.

Jody, I don't play, but I do listen.
I've had the pleasure of hearing you a number of times and have yet to be disappointed. You have fine way of delivering a song.

I need to chime in here. Jody is a Terrific Player, and human being. He made me nervous and honored at the same time when he asked me to play guitar on his set at the Dallas Steel show year before last. He even asked me to play on last years show, but I wasn't going to be there on Saturday, so I had to decline. It's not every day an unknown guy like me gets asked to play on a set with someone like Jody.
That's the kind of guy he is! Jody, you are awesome.
Folks you really ought to get his CDs if you don't have them yet. They are awesome too!
