St Louis area Leroy Nunn Has passed away from a heart attack, he has been in poor health for some time.Back in the 50's an 60's Leroy was way ahead of his time playing steel guitar, he played with several bands up untill the last year, when poor health made him stop.Leroy had many friends he will be missed

Another sad loss to the St.Louis region. In the early to mid-1970's, I would marvel at Leroy's great tone and style while he played his black Emmons guitar at Warrenton Lanes Lounge. I lost contact with him over the years, but never forgot how wonderful he played. Also, never heard Leroy and Bill Barton play together, but knowing Bill Barton very, very well, those two together on stage must have been awsome!

What a lose. I knew Leroy for the last ten years. He was good friend and neighbor. We only lived about three miles apart up until his health got so bad. We played a lot of shows together and he taught me a lot about the pedal steel guitar. His funeral was today and there were quite a few fellow musicians in attendance. He will be missed by many.
