Well, I never do this myself, but SOMEBODY left a CD on the ground near my car after closing time the other night.. Kind of like the old half full beer bottle on yor fender after closing time.. I was kind of suspicious at first.. This from a guy that's sipped from at least one of them....

It was Bobby Flores on the Eleven Roses and another collection.

WOW!

I am not sure who it was on steel, but I have NEVER heard music like this.

Maybe it was just me, and I think I remarked before how the steel on My Life's Been a Pleasure plain made me pull over and listen when I heard it last summer.

The steel on "Are you Teasing Me" was enough to make me fall out of my chair, and I'll be singing along listening to it while I'm in a check out line, or waiting room, but I don't care. Not even if my pants are wet.

It's THAT GOOD.

I'll proclaim my innocence of knowing exactly who it was, but I can only describe it as hearing somebody play with the exhuberance of someone that's maybe sat off his instrument for a week or so, and had the itch to play, and was TOTALLY glad to get to it and play all the things he'd been thinking about.. PERFECTLY. It was probably Mr Overby, or Mr Loesberg, OR perhaps Bobby himself... Fiddle and Guitar, I can't begin to describe. Nothing short of the best I can remember hearing, from "Dear Old Lousian" through all twenty or so of the songs that were on this CD...

As pennance I just ordered "Too Many Rivers" and "Just for the Records" from the ET RS.

These, the Dale Watson CD with Lloyd on it, and an upcoming Jamie J CD are my musical finds of the year as far as I'm concerned.

Anybody that has ever listened to REAL Shuffles till they were tired of them needs to get some of these CDs. It breathe new life into the Shuffle Dimension.

More as it comes in and I read the liners.

Thanks Bobby, Jim, Dick, (BE?) and all.

What a bunch of MUSIC!.

Smile Smile Smile

I never give out THREE smileys...

Wink

According to the BobbyFloresBand.com, the players are:

Great players all!

I would love to see Randy Reinhard do an instrumental CD; IMO there is none better. I thought at one time that they were going to get him to do one; que paso amigos?

The first time I saw Randy was at the St Lo convention, probably in the late 70's. Wow, I am sure he was just a kid but he was set up next to Buddy E on stage and matched him lick for lick. And,,,,,Randy is a key board player, right? or does he just play the keys also.............. I too would like to see him put out a CD. I know, it takes money to do that. So nice to hear him with Bobby Flores.

Hearing Tommy Detamore on the Pauline Reese cd's brings about the same reaction from me. Perfect blend of timing, taste, & technique imho!
