Just the other day in the "sweetest gig" thread I mentioned how much I enjoyed working with a singer named Bobby Cahill back in the 80s. Well, Bobby has some casuals lined up, and he's getting back together again with me the lead guitarist to do do them.

I'm looking forward to playing with my old friends again.

Mike,It's good to get together with old friends. My first real band [we had a record out and a weekly radio show] in 57,a trio. 55 years later all three of us are still kicking and picking. Not together but it's still good to see each other once in a while. Very Happy YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.

If that's Bobby Cahill from the Ventura area, tell him he still owes me money...

Jim, I'm sure he'd much rather owe it to you than cheat you out of it.

The band I played in 35 yrs ago decided to reunite this past spring-all the original members, and we played 6 gigs together. It was fun to rework up a bunch of the old tunes, most of which came back to us like we had never stopped playing them. The old chemistry was still there! Funny how ingrained those parts and harmonies(and idiosyncracies) were even after all that time!

Hey Mike, good to see you getting back together with the boys "next door" if you know what I mean. a few months ago I posted about my bass player passing away. His name was Don Yount and at one point he worked for Bobby in the LA area. Would you pass that on to him........ Have a great time doing those gigs as I know it'll be a lot of fun.....JH in Va.

I got together this year with an old highschool band we had back in the 60's. Back then I played the guitar with this bunch of friends. At 65 years old, I decided to learn the steel about 3 months ago and I played it at the first gig we had with a lot of school friends and family this last Saturday. Boy was I doing some sweating and fumbling. The crowd didn't seem to hear the wrong chord or fret and gave us a standing ovation on a lot of the songs. I think they were just glad that we could still play standing up or sitting. I sure had a lot of fun and saw that I need to get busier learning some more leads and runs. I just wish I had started a whole lot earlier in life learning the steel. Had some good comments and encouragements from some that had a little music knowledge. It sure is fun again. Very Happy
