Killer sounding 1966 Blackface Twin. All original transformers, no mods that I am aware of or that my tech could see, replaced filter and bias caps, original blue molded tone caps and 1965 Fender-marked blue back Oxford 12t6 speakers that I got out of my Pro Reverb which are period and model correct for this Twin. They could conceivably have been original to this amp, but I know they are not. The Twin came to me with Weber Cali's that are going in the Pro, and the Twin now has it's correct vintage speakers.

Solid 8.5 out of 10 cosmetics, except for a pretty worn faceplate. Sounds unreal, just like it should. Could use a little bench time to clean pots, change tubes and re-bias. I only had this amp a few days and would love to keep it, but I just can't use the power and I can't justify keeping it without using it. Beyond saying that I have played it at volume (up to 8, which hurt, but I had to check it out) for some extended periods in the house, I cannot attest to the long term reliability of this amp, but I can say in good faith that the only problems I have heard seem to be related to scratchy pots. Only when I turn some the pots do I hear any extraneous noise, other than that it idles quiet and sounds very healthy.
sounds nice as low as 3 on the Volume, opens up to full girth around 4 and doesn't really break up at all until about 7, at which point it's time to run and hide. That was with the Webers, it may give it up a little earlier with the Oxfords.
UPDATE - installed the Oxfords, they sound great. A little less overall volume than the Webers, and very nice vintage chime and grind. Bottom end is still very fat and easily controlled, and the Oxfords have just a little nice breakup and grind to them that the Webers did not. Heaven with my 52RI Tele.
Not the loudest Twin I have ever heard, but still Twin Reverb loud with very sweet full tone. Tone is clear, rich, strong and consistent. Reverb is huge (gets kinda sloppy but has great tight sweet spot around 2.5) and the vibrato works but it is weak.
The pics show the amp with the Webers, but it will ship with the Oxfords as advertised. The grill cloth looks a hair darker to me than in the pictures, with some very minor bits of discoloration and a few very small pulls. there are minor nicks and scuffs on the tolex. Replaced screws on the upper rear panel. Detail and gut shots on request for serious buyers, but I was just inside it and the caps/trannies are as described.
A new reissue BF Twin Reverb lists for over close to $2000 and has a street price of $1400 plus tax and shipping.

These don't come along every day, and if you want a real-deal Blackface Twin, this is a really sweet one.
