Back in the late 80's and early 90's, I had a knee lever on one of my steels that someone refered to as the X knee lever. I remember using it to get a 7th sounding Don Rich guitar lick by doing a little bouncing around 6, 8 and 10 strings. Does anyone know which string this pulled or lowered. I may have that pull now but just can't remember the lick. Thanks---Henry _________________ Henry Matthews

I have always been told the X lever was introduced by Jeff Newman on his lessons. It lowers the two B's to Bb. Makes a seventh chord. Somebody else may have heard different. |

Jeff may have dubbed it the "X" lever, but I do not believe he came up with the change(s) on it. Not sure who first used it, but don't think it was Jeff. If it was him, I stand corrected.

Thanks guys, I believe I found the X lever I was thinking about. It's raising 7th, F# to a G and doing a little run thing on 6, 7 and 8. One of the formites sent it to me and I believe that's it. ----Henry _________________ Henry Matthews
