JBL K-120 speakers. They are no longer manufactured but are found for sale frequently on e-bay. |

Can't beat a pair of Weber Californias. A nice thing about Weber speakers ordering them new, they will break them in for you on a variac for free, if you request it. _________________ Sierra U12 4+5 / 1933 Dobro / homemade Tele B-bender |

My back and ears like the new Jensen Neo 12" speakers.
Just a little over 5 pounds each, 100 watt rated. We are using them in the new 212 version of our steel and and have sent them out to several forum members to go in Twins already. |

If you're looking for JBL tone the Weber Neo 12's are very close. You might even like them better. I think they are smoother than the JBL D120 and your amp will lose 10 or 12 pounds in the bargain. |

Those JBL K-120s are incredible in a Twin. Sounds great at any volume. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

John,
Here's my suggestion: replace one of the speakers with an 8 ohm K120 or D120. It will sound better than 2 of them. Trust me. |

If you have your old JBL speakers, they can be reconed. Or find them on Ebay and recone them. Woody Woodel' s 'de man for that job. He's been a JBL tech since 1948.
There are imitaion JBL speakers that come close to JBL's, but why bother--go get the real deal. Watch ebay--they come up all the time. _________________ "Good judgement comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement"~old cowboy proverb.

I am a big JBL fan and have a 67 Blackface Twin..
It came with Green Celestions the 25 watt model and they seem to be a very good match. _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.

Me ears like the brightness and response of the Fender Gold Label Emmi's . My 71 Twin had the stock Utah's but to me they were dull and lifeless, also very middy....after sticking in a pair of the Emmi's it's like night and day...I also plan to use 2 single 12 cabs with these same speakers with the Dual Showman Reverb head, one cab will be open back, the other closed . Should be nice for both Guitars and Steel... _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

I'm with Tony - Emminence 12" Fender special design. I've got a few amps and quite a few speakers. I've tried many combos. They are e-qued perfectly to my ears and also have better dispersion than any 15" speaker I've tried. |
