Just returned from a great trip. Met with many old friends, needed to get out of the Waikiki concrete jungle, out into the Manoa valley, beautiful blue ginger in bloom, plumeria trees, bird-song aplenty, the torquoise coloured ocean, a gentle sea turtle that passed within a metre of me, double rainbows,.. and also a little steel guitar... contacted Uncle Ronald (what a great job he is doing with his young protegès), Wayne Shishido sounding as good as always..others..also had a chance to talk about steel guitar to Kanoe Miller who has been dancing the hula at the Halekulani since I first saw her during the Jerry Byrd days, a uniquely graceful presence...
I was interviewed on TV, and this will be broadcast on cable station OC16 at 7.30pm Hawaiian time (10.30 pm PDT on Wednesday 8th ( 6.30 am GMT, Thursday 9th). Also on Internet oc16.tv, Brown Bags to Stardom, If you care to tune in, watch out for a "plug" on the steel guitar!

This was not broadcast last week for some reason. It will be broadcast tonight at 10.30 pm PDT, 6.30 am GMT, an interview in connection with my CD "The Plumeria Journey". It will be streamed on oc16.tv (on Internet TV) If you happen to be awake and access the site, click on "Brown Bags to Stardom".
I have included a "plug" for the steel guitar....I am told the audience is wide, especially amongst the young, who are more into hip-hop than hula.
