This is my new Rittenberry SD10. Well worth the wait I must say. I spent many hours at a time (some of them on the phone with Gary) determining what I wanted. It is evident to me that he cares about his business and his customers. Every detail we discussed was included in the design. This is not a cookie-cutter production stamp out like so many other guitars produced today. I have found even with the individuality and custom fit, everything I have ever heard about the consistency in tone and solid feel of these guitars is true. This thing really sings.

Congrats Dustin, you've got a super nice beauty for sure.
Wecome to Ritt family. If you own a Ritt, you're a winner.
Gary won't settle for anything less than perfect, and he
stays in touch with you thru the whole process of building
the steel, to make sure that you'll love it when it's done.
Wish you lots of enjoyment with it. I really love mine.

Yes, welcome to the Ritt family Dustin and indeed that is another glorious creation by one of the masters of tone and perfection. Gary Rittenberry is PERFECTION! Another thing you will find is that the Ritt doesn't care what amp it is plugged into, it will sound good through any amp. Enjoy and have fun! |

Dustin, that is an "exquisite" looking
steel! Congratulations.
I note the way the string ball ends attach
to the changer. Most of the manufacturers
discarded that in their design re: breakage,
changing strings.

Roy, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought most manufactures still had that design |

Hey Roy, I've had mine since April and I've only broke 1 string.
That was the normal 5th string, and believe me, I put a lot of
hours in practicing. A lot less breakage than my other steels had.

|
|
Roy,
I am not concerned in the least. Almost every steel I have owned uses a similar style of anchoring and string breakage has never been an issue for me. Maybe I have been lucky, but I play solid 3 hr sessions every week. The quality of this guitar surpasses any I have experienced. I anticipate little to no string breakage. |

Dustin,
I was not referring to string breakage
but rather the ancoring pins on the changer
breaking off from time to time.
Notwithstanding, you are a lucky man
with a beautiful steel.

Roy, the only well know steels on the market that have innovative changer designs are the Excel and the Williams..all the others look about the same. |

Brad, Looking the same dosen't mean they are. The changer in the Ritt is a cut above any. Don't ask me to explain as it is Gary Rittenberry's secret.
Dustin, Welcome to the Rittenberry club. I'm glad you like your Steel.

Thanks Roy, I think I understand what you meant now. I have never broken a pin off with this form of anchoring either.

Your statement implies that this guitar's changer is somehow inferior?<<
Dustin, you are reading something into my words that was not stated. BTW, your new Guitar looks great..so many people love the Rittenberry Steel..I wish someone in my area had one so I could give it a try. |

Man! That's about the ugliest guitar I've ever seen.
But, if you'll sell it to me for $500 Dustin, I'll take it off your hands and delete that nasty statement above. |

TTT... I just played this thing all day. It practically plays itself. I think Gary must have loaded the tone program before he sent it out.

What a sweet looking steel!! And look at all the pulls and splits available on every string.
Could you post a shot of the reversing mechanism, the 1/2 stop linkage and compensators (if there are any). I just like to see how Gary engineered them. |
