Hey Lynn.....have you been going to the gym and doing lots of squats? You'll need strong legs to support that lap steel. Very Happy

Seriously though, that is just a beautiful D8. What tunings do you have planned for her?

Jeez, I thought the legs came with it. I'd better get to work.

I'm putting A6 on the inside neck and E13 on the outside one.

Sounds like you will be playing "Western Swing". Will the top string on the E13 be G# ? You should get very full sounds with these tunings. If you can have both necks on at once you can move between these tunings on the same song as needed for fuller chords and phrasings.

Arrived yesterday. Sweet tone machine all the way around. It was in tune when I unpacked it, and I haven't touched a tuning peg yet?

I use the Leon McAuliffe variation of E13, so the top string is tuned to E.

Todd does some excellent work.

Of course I'm just barely getting introduced to her, but the combination of scale length and string spacing (longer and narrower than my 22.5" Stringmaster) really seems to work well.
