Here' how I learned it listening to Lloyd Green's version many years ago. It has been fun re-learning it again. I will make the tab available next week and the track too. I hope you enjoy it.
Regards.

What can you say about this man that hasn't already been said. Every instrumental he plays is first class. He's a great ambassador for us Brits and the steel guitar fraternity worldwide. I'm proud to know him. |

IMO, David's contributions to the psg are astronomical. When I purchase David's "tabs", I learn how a lot of famous licks, and some of David's are done. This is some of the best money I've ever spent. Thank you David! |

Mike, as Bent said, Bill Stroud of BJS Bars does stock all of my CD's, Tabs and Tracks and other tuitional material. He does have more than what's showing on my website at the moment. He can be emailed at bjsbars@frontiernet.net. Today, I am adding the track and tab for Almost Persuaded to the www.davidhartleymusic.com website. Others are to follow very soon too. I know many of you have been waiting for tabs for some of my other instrumentals, so, at last, you will see them become available.

I have now added the tab and track to the website here:-
http://www.davidhartleymusic.com/page2.htm
Scroll down to the botton to see them.
Although I have spent many hours perparing this track and tab, all the credit must go to Lloyd Green. He was my main training aid when I first started and all I had was 33rpm records. It has been fun reminding myself of the way I used to learn by listening only. Doing the tabs also reminded me of some great sounding licks that I has forgotton about over the years. I hope that it helps some of you to have this tabbed to assist your playing or refresh your memory of licks forgotton. I have thoroughly enjoyed it, I hope you do too.
PS:- this is Lloyds tuning:-
# note LKL Ped1 Ped2 Ped3 LKR RKL RKR
1 F# __+G________________________________________
2 D# ________________________________-D/C#_______
3 G# _____________+A_____________________________
4 E ___________________+F#____+F________________
5 B _______+C#_________+C#______________________
6 G# _____________+A_____________________________
7 F# ____________________________________________
8 E __________________________+F___________-D#__
9 D ____________________________________________
10 B _______+C#__________________________________
If you dont have the F# to G raise on the 1st, a simple way around it is to tune your 1st to G for this song and on line 5 of page 4, just change the 3rd note played to a fret 14..... It will make sense when you see it. I know a lot of you dont raise 1 and/or 7 like I do..

Hi Dave,
I can remember traveling to Nashville Tenn. quite a few years ago, as a delegate to our national church convocation And as we neared the crossover point between the states of Ohio, and Tenn., coming into the radio station`s range, we heard David Houston`s version of this song, and we were totally blown away by the steel player`s beautiful harmonic accompaniment of same, and having chills run up and down our back. My friend, your rendition, has had that same effect.
Keep up the good work, and keep bringing back the memories.
Bishop R.P. Hall

Hey David,
Sorry that I`m just getting back to you. Things had just sort of bogged down around here.
Dave I would love to come to Dallas, but I`m afraid that my traveling days are pretty much done. The only traveling I do these days are from my residence in Michigan, to Toledo, Ohio for Del Grace`s "Sacred String Showcase", a distance of about fifty-five miles, once a year. Even then it is a little difficult because of my physical challenges. I am a double above knee amputee. I am not totally incapacitated, for I do walk with the aid of prosthetic legs, but there are other things such as twenty-four hour a day, seven days a week that I fight (the pain). But I still Pastor my church, and have a very active life in the ecclesiastical community in which I serve. And I play every sunday, at my church, along with my family on the "Steel". For me, playing on you tube, and so forth is my hobby, and therapy. I would never be a performance artist. But I`m having "Big Fun" I will however, be in there cheering for you, as you travel to Dallas! Be Blessed my dear friend!

I thought I was listening to Lloyds original recording, it's amazing that Dave can not only get Lloyds notes and phrasing, which I find very difficult to do, but he also replicates the original tone
Hats off to Dave, he's excelled himself |

Very nice, as always, David. That old "Bud" sure sounds sweet, but I imagine any guitar you play sounds pretty good...

David:
Yes, I received the tab and it is really good!! The transaction was very easy. I like the way you do business.
You were right about the 2nd string lower being very effective. I've been playing pedals over 30 years and never thought much about that string except for some of the older country licks from the 50's and 60's and that was only a 1/2 step lower. I still have the original record (vinyl) that LLoyd Green put out that included "Almost Persuaded" and you play it almost note for note. Great job.
Keep the great tab coming. I'm looking at a couple of others right now.
I haven't seen such great tab since Jeff Newman's.

Many thanks to you all.
If you haven't seen this tab yet, give it a try, you will learn something from it!
I think Angels is possibly next, this is what I have had many request for, so I will work on it this week.
