Aloha everyone! I am sad to have to sell my 70's era Sho-Bud Pedal Steel... But such is life and the economy...
This is "The Professional" model. THIS PARTICULAR RIG IS SPECIAL AS SHE HAS 9 FOOT PEDALS!!! THAT'S RIGHT, 9 FOOT PEDALS!!!
Please see pics attached! You will see the 9 pedals as well as 4 knee levers. However, there are 5 knee levers but i have only been able to wrap my mind around 4 so far. I decided not to attach the 5th but do have the lever. Also, you will notice that the knee levers are not tear drop, so the steel is not completely original.
I also have a grip of spare parts as well... nuts, bolts, extra rods, etc. She comes with a case and a cloth carrier for the legs and rods.
This pedal steel is in playable condition, pretty clean considering her age, stays in tune exceptionally well, sounds nice and rich/warm, and she is just beautiful!!! I bought her from someone who had her tucked away for years without having been played. In my opinion, she could use some tuning up in the joints and gears as she is a bit stiff compared to the slick newbies out there. Slight stiffness aside, i have used her for many a gig, both live and in studio, over the last year and a half which is about how long i have had her.
I don't want to lose her.  But of all the instruments i own and gig with, this one is obviously the least portable and practical. Honestly, i don't gig with her enough as i am not at the level of many of the pedal steel players around town. I have been playing an 8-string Rickenbacker Lap Steel for quite some time and am content to use her as my main axe for now. The real bummer is that i am in dire need of the money and she deserves a home with a player who will treat her right!

I work as a multi-instrumentalist and take explicit care of all my instruments as they are my life and represent a part of myself that demands love and respect. Feel free to contact me for more pics. I am asking $1600 for her. This is really only because i have learned of how important it seems to be for many players to want a steel with all original parts. As you can see, this one does not. However, i can attest that even though she doesn't come with the purdy tear drop levers, she is still a beautiful sounding, solid steel. Unfortunately, this price DOES NOT include any shipping costs if applicable. I must also ask for cash or cashier's checks only.

The knee levers are not teardrop, and pedals are not wide.

Hi Jeff! You know, i am not sure if this is original. I have heard many comments on the unique 9 pedal set up. I wondered if this was an addition? The man i bought the guitar from was the son of the original owner who passed away some years ago. Unfortunately, he did not know much of anything about the history of the guitar.
The only number i can find on it reads: 1-A-3
Do you know anything about these models? I would love to hear any feedback! |
