Antone with any first hand knowledge or publications about National archtop electric guitars made between 1935 and 1948 please contact me or post info here, I have seen everything on the web and a few posts in forum rooms but nothing really in depth. The reason I ask is I have found a "sleeper keeper" National archtop, 1 humbucker, no f holes, does not quite look like anything I have seen web wise. Thanky, Greg. _________________ Greg's Guitars at http://www.gregsguitars.net or

Big fan here! I don't know the year on the New Yorker non-cut, and the Debonaire is Mid-Fifties. Great guitars. It's believed that some bodies were provided by Gibson and Regal. The pickups are NOT humbuckers, the magnet is on the side. Jason Lollar did a great job rewinding the pup on the Debonaire. Perhaps Michael Lee Allen will chime in with ephemera.
The New Yorker
Notice that, on the New Yorker, nothing touches the top.

Archtop, no f-holes... anything like this Supro from the '39 National catalog?
