Can folks tell what your band is all about looking at your band logo?
Or is it even important?
I play in two different bands...one "Classic Rock" and one we're putting together to play "Classic Country"
I'm an artist and designed our logos to hopefully reflect what we do by just looking at our logo.

In College I played in a Country/death metal band called Shank Killums. We didn't have a logo but the name was a dead giveaway. |

Just plain Country Gold. No genre indications at all.
The band before that was "Country Wine & Roses" didn't give out much info as well. |

The Tim Gillis Band does not but the other band I'm in might be more discriptive; The Twitty Fever Band.
I guess if you've never been in to country that might not mean much either. |

One band I'm in, The Retros, tries to convey a certain time period. See if you can guess.

Its mandatory for some genres. I know instantly just by seeing this logo exactly what this band will sound like even tho I cannot decipher the band name.
