this youtube video clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqJMJ5NXF90
of myself and my band the SteadFast Ramblers in a live performance a while back. I don't pretend to be as accomplished a player as many here, but I'm pleased to be able to share a little something for your possible enjoyment.
And, yeah, my tele-playing partner is pretty dang great...he makes the whole band sound good!
Comments and critique welcome.
Thanks for looking...

Great stuff! That is the sound I like most. Vintage swing. Is that E13? If it is, which one.

Thanks for the comments...

Tom, that's my C6 (high G). It's actually the Junior Brown C13 with the low 7, but I'm not sure I got to the low string in any of the playing in that clip.

I've been playing with E13 and working up a better understanding of the tunings that use a low 2 instead of a low 1. Lately, Ive been tuning my single neck to C13(lo-hi) Bb,D,E,G,A,C,E,G. It gives me the best of both worlds, though I miss the handy positions in some keys with the E13.

Soon enough I'll build up a double and use E13 (probably 3 on top) and straight C6 or, more likely, the Junior C13 that I'm used to.

Very nice, John -- I liked what you did with it -- nice work from your Tele player, too. Good feel and rhythm all the way around.

Yes, Mr. Boards, that's one of mine. I had intended to sell off the white one, but I'd canabalized some of the parts out of the shell pink one that I consider my main axe. As a result, I had to use the white one for gigs. It works pretty well for me. I recently got my pink one up and running again and I'm playing that one. It's just the coolest!

Great stuff John! Side note: I played one of your acoustic guitars at Hill Country Guitars in Wimberly last year and was blown away! Truly an instrument of the highest quality. Your sunburst dreads are breathtaking! I "had" narrowed my search to a Collings D1ASB or a sunburst Huss & Dalton TD-M... needless to say yours through me for a loop. Smile
