Well, now that I have an idea of a fair price, the Maverick I posted over in the Pedal Steel section is for sale. The pic pretty much sums it up. There are a couple of minor scuffs but nothing you wouldn't expect from a guitar of this age. 3 pedals, no knees. Case included. $500 +shipping with the volume pedal. $425 + shipping without.

Thanks
David

That is a sweet little gem from out of the past. How I love the early Sho Buds. I find it strange that all these expert appraisers on the (Forum)? never seem to be willing to pay the prices they quote to the folks whom are honestly are trying to be honest! Guess old age is really setting in as I can easily pick out the "PHONIES" that are here! I know many of you also know what I'm talking about. So many are so full of what makes the GRASS GROW GREEN. But, that is why I'm considered "senile." Good luck with that little jewel.

David, that's a nice looking Maverick. Nicer than the ash-tray style. It's a shame the knee lever has gone missing. Does the underside look as nice as the topside?

Yep, it's just as clean underneath. I don't think this one ever had a knee lever, at least I didn't see any holes where it would have been.

This is the exact same guitar I started on as a young boy of 12 so many years ago. A great guitar for any beginner.

Thanks guys, yeah, this one is a lot nicer than the vinyl covered mav's. This one has aluminum changer fingers instead of the newer chrome plated zinc too.

David Mansfield gave me one of these back in 1976 and that is why I play pedal steel today..This is a great instrument to start out on... Very Happy

It is possible, however, I don't have any parts to do it. This one doesn't appear to have ever had any installed.
