i have heard about the old south jamboree in walker louisiana for years, and, come to find out it's been around for years. in their new building since 1967!
i was invited to go down there saturday nite to see royce tarver play steel on the show.
this is got to be the best kept secret in country music for a local jamboree.
when i saw that there was gonna be 9 guest singers on the show i thought, man, this is got all the ingrediants for a train wreck. boy was i surprised! this show was great and ran as smooth as silk.
the packed house, ...they even had to put out extra chairs, was so very appreciative of each and every song and singer. reminded me of the louisiana hayride in the early 50's, hoopin' & hollerin'
royce did not have time to shine as a steeler but what he did was to make each song stand out by playing just what neededed to be played and nothing more...how hard this is for a not so seasoned player to do. that is why this guy gets the calls to take the tours and productions that you see on his resume.
now that's country.........

country....
