That's right ladies and vegetables - the legendary Bakersfield Bard will be performing this coming Saturday evening 10-25-03 at Viva Fresh at 900 Riverside Dr in scenic Burbank,CA with the able backing of The Cody Bryant Band featuring this humble steel player. So tie your horse up out back and amble on in for a little cerveza and a few songs about trucks from the guy that wrote 'em..... "I got a beaver on my lap and a bear on my tail..." -MJ-

I was in Bakersfield 2 weeks ago with the Derailers. We played at Buck's Crystal Palace. Red came up before we started and introduced himself. I was floored. This cat wrote some killer songs. Truck Drivin' Man, CloseUp The Honky Tonks. We tried to get him up to sing, but he just wanted to sit and listen. A friend who brought him said he would have walked out if he didn't like us. He stayed the whole show and hung out for about an hour after with us. I have some photos I'll try to get up. He was a cool guy.

Hot Dang Michael, that's a cool gig. I saw Red at "Trouts" in Oildale with Larry Petree playing Steel and they sounded great. Gonna try to make it out there on Saturday..

Hey Michael,
Wish I could be there tomorrow night and see your show but I've got a gig myself here in Nashville. BTW, Kandi Johnston might start working some with us. She told me she knew you. Great female vocals!
Also, hows your Peavey Nashville 1000 holding up. I've got one myself, and I've started running it parallel with my Fender Twin Reverb (SWEET, That's all I can say)!Take Care, Nick
