Been away for a bit had
a few days vacation.
This song died many times but it
keeps coming back. I still like to
play it once in a while and people
never get tired of singing it..but
not with Cold Water
A six string arrangement with
a few sound alike pedal licks.

Nice job on an old classic Roy. I plugged mine in and made a duet out of it with some complementary harmonies. |

C on bottom.
Have a nice summer.

I agree! It's the best all round tuning for 6-string lap steel IMO. Every lap steel tuning has "something missing", but C6 seems to have "less missing" than other tunings. It offers a lotta harmonies, 3rds, 6ths, and a lot of options for slants, 7ths, 9ths, etc. _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel

HI ROY,
I enjoyed your excellent playing of this tune.
I had to chuckle a bit at the GENRE: HILLBILLY.

One of the first to record BCITR was Roy Acuff in the early 40's. At that time it was considered "Hillbilly Music" which encompassed many Artists of that era that were not what we would now call Hillbilly. It is interesting that Brother Oswald who normally played pure Dobro, swithed to playing a 6-string electric Steel Guitar. This switch did not last long and he went back to Dobro. I remember listening to the Grand Old Opry on Saturday nights and one night I said to myself. "Hey, Oswald electified his Steel". Like I said it did not last long. You can still catch Roy Acuff's recording on "TheRadio.Com". in the Country Music of the 40's category. |

Poor Brother Oswald...
I think his rendition of this old tune
set the scene for so many others that
followed. They made a lot of money
but Oswald didn't.
What a damm shame but
that did not bother him very much.
Loved his playing.
Such is life.
