Bein' a musician with cerebral palsy, I think the steel guitar has changed me because every other instrument I thought of playin' always involved somethin' my left hand couldn't handle, like on a guitar, I could strum, but not fret. So, when I started playin' steel guitar, everything changed cause I'm able to play, even with cerebral palsy. I've got wonderful friends and a wonderful instrument!

Yours is a great story, and you are an inspiration to fellow sufferers of cerebral palsy.
You don't have bad taste in steel guitars either. I love your Jackson _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Telonics TCA-500, Webb 614-E, |

Brett, you are a great man. You are an inspiration to not only CP sufferers but in fact you are an inspiration to us all. Speaking for myself...with the reduced use of my left hand I would likely have given up. Not you. You keep trucking and you show us that everything is possible.
I also want to make us all aware of your encyclopedic knowledge of steel guitar players. That talent is nothing short of amazing.
Bless you, my friend. _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

My hat's off to you too Bret. You are an inspiration to all! You have shown that there are no obstacles to what you want to do if you put your mind to it.
Like many others, I've never met you as I live on the other side of the pond but I feel as if I know you personally because of your posts and your knowledge of everything steel!
Bless you my friend

I'll echo what everyone else has said here, Brett. I always love hearing you play and seeing you at steel shows. Keep showing us what positive attitude is all about! And like you, steel has probably given me far more than I could say. Lucky us! |

Brett, you have redefined passion by the way you care for your steel guitar family and for your beloved instrument. You ARE an inspiration to us all!
Equally, your mom and dad are walking examples of caring, loving, supportive parents of their three sons.
We are blessed to have all of you in our lives!!
We love you, sweetie!!
Donna and Tommy
PS - Your Jackson Black Jack Custom is absolutely GORGEOUS, and sounds great too! We enjoyed seeing the Jackson folks at our last Peach Jam. What nice people they are! Here's a picture of you with the family at their booth in front of another one of their beautiful guitars.

Brett.
Like so many people, I too have been changed, and in ways saved many times by the Pedal Steel Guitar. In the last nearly 40 years my life has taken many many turns. Some good, some not so good. Ups, downs, loss of jobs, people, health turns, etc.
The Pedal Steel has been the one constant in my life besides my lifelong trying to understand God, and his plan for me.
You've ALWAYS made this place brighter and better.
Thanks Brett.
Your Friend, fellow steel player, and admirer.
