I couldn't find the lyrics to this song anywhere on the Internet so I wrote them out from listening to it. If anyone knows this song, could they tell me if there's any mistakes please.
Yolanda by Joe Merrick lyrics
Verse 1
Every day I'm by the corral you come riding your buckskin bare,
Flashing your dark eyes while all the la quieros try not to stare
I know our father would kill the first gringo foolish enough to dare
To ask for the hand of his daughter but I love you to much to care
Chorus
Oh Yolanda I love you so, prettiest girl in all Mexico,
You'll find your way to my arms I know for your heart you can't ignore
I don't know where we go from here, I don't know what love holds in store,
I only know I don't want to live without you anymore.
Chrous
(as above)
Verse 2
I only came down here to break the new horses and lay low awhile,
But all that changed from the moment I first felt the warmth of your smile
Now I know I'll never be crossing the border unless you're by my side,
If I ever go back to Texas then I'm going back there in style.
Chrous
(as above)
Verse 3
Out by the light of the moon you will saddle your backspin bare,
Make your way down to the river and soon I will meet you there,
We'll cross that old Rio Grande to our own secret rendezvous deep in the cool desert air
And we'll ride out of old Mexico and into the new life we'll share.
Chorus
(as above) then repeat chorus last line x2

My listen of the first 2 lines of the first verse:
"Every day down by the corral you come riding your buckskin mare,
Flashing your dark eyes while all the vaqueros try not to stare"
Also, in the first line of the third verse it's "buckskin mare" not "backspin bare", although the latter term is certainly evocative.
"Vaqueros" are cowboys in Spanish.
Nice song, I hadn't heard it before -- it's sort of like Jimmy Buffet doing Marty Robbins. |

Thank you so much. I need a session guitarist to play all that guitar on a track I am doing. Any takers for the Internet recording session ? |
