I just bought this guitar a few weeks ago, I love the guitar but I played a Mullen today that stole my heart. This is a real early Legrande Serial # 0056 L. When I got it the setup wasn't exactly standard. It's Emmons setup now with the exception of the 6th string lower. E's are on the left knees, RKL raises 1&2, RKR lowers 2&9 with a half stop. It comes with a 9th pedal which I removed because it got in my way. I have the pull rod, bell crank, pedal & pedal rod. It was in the #9 slot, the pull rod could also be used to lower string 6 on RKL if you wanted, or another lever. It has 5 knee levers but no vertical. The 5th is an extra left knee hooked up to the C6th neck. I have looked the guitar over and over and still can't find a single scratch or bar ding in the mica at all, guitar is "near mint" for it's age! It sounds wonderful, I'd put it up there with the 74PP I had and my Legrande II. It sounds like an Emmons should. It has the George L 10-1 pickups, which in my opinion sound good in the guitar. Any other questions feel free to call me or email.

Ben, do you know the history of this guitar? It may be my first guitar that my folks bought me back in the early 80's. Thanks, JC

Ben,

That is a beautiful SKH you have there!!! Cool

Just happens I have 0077L. If yours has the tone and sustain 0077L has (no doubt it does), this is a really terrific price for a rare and unique Emmons PSG...Best to the new owner, you will enjoy it!! TX

Blue Skies & Rgds,

Ron

Thanks for those kind words Ron. It does indeed have plenty of sustain and tone, even with the non-original pickups this guitar will sing. I played a 5 hour gig with it last night and it sounded great. Had compliments from the band and other musicians in the audience on the tone.

Back TTT Very Happy

The guitar is off the market for now. I've decided to get some work done to it (re-rod/clean/setup), and have 2 original Emmons single coil pickups put in it. I expect after this is done I'll hang on to it for a while. As much as I trade guitars though, at some point it may become available again. I appreciate all of the offers and getting to meet some of you guys (over the phone, and some in person.) This has by far been the most interesting sale/trade ad I've ever posted. Praise the SGF. Very Happy

Ben,

I am glad you decided to keep the SKH Emmonsfor a while. As I stated in my email to you, the more you play this guitar the more you will fall in love with it.

I THINK IT'S A GREAT IDEA TO GET THE ORIGINAL EMMONS PUPS. That's what mine has, and as I told you I've had many opportunities to try other guitars and nothing has EVER compared to my Emmmons SKH all the way around.

I'll bet you that you will decide to keep it once you put them original Emmons pups in.

Take care my friend,

Al V. Smile Smile
