I'm doing a restoration/rebuild on an old d10 BMI. I'm thinking about replacing the particle board deck with mahogany and black mica. the black mica on it now is 1/16" thick. Is that the same thickness as the black mica on the old push pulls?

Standard Grade Formica, 0.048" thick is what I have on my original 1964s and 1965s, although when I have had a chance to see the back of the laminate it is the old brown backed Formica.
If you measured 1/16th that is 0.0625" and the only laminate I know of that thick and glossy at the same time is heavier fire retardant laminate that I found once, but I do not think it was a Formica product.
Use Formica STANDARD grade for horizontal applications, not thinner vertical grade.
