I am ISO an 8-string or 10-string to play. I am spendng a tremendous amount of time at my Dad's house here in Colorado and I want to have an instrument to keep here. A 10-sting would be preferable to an 8; but 10's seem to come at a substantially higher price-point. I am confident that an 8 will meet my needs.
I have been combing the "For Sale: Instruments" section here on the SGF, eBay, and various other sources. Suggestions for items on these Forums or any other source will be appreciated.
I have contacted number of people off-List already. If you wish to Post your replies to those inquiries here that will make it easier to keep track of the options which present themselves during this search.
- A Weisenborn style instrument would be of interest.
- A resophonic would be of interest.
- I am also open to a D8.
- A PSG would be OK.
- Lap or table Steel's would meet my needs & wants.
- A home-built no-name which is playable would be of interest.
- 23-26 inch scale length is preferred although I play an old Console Grande so a shorter scale length would be fine too.
- A baritone (more than 26" scale length) would be of interest.
- My target max price is $400 (including shipping to 80302 in Colorado) but I can and probably will go higher if and when the right deal and instrument tempts me.
- A 10-string (for a palletable price) would be ideal because I could use my current Dobro tuning on it.

I have a little buddy 10 string student model pedal steel. 3 pedals one knee lever that has been tuned up by Jim Palenscar here in southern california. I think $400 including shipping would work out perfectly. I was asking $350-ish for the guitar, so with the shipping, 400 is fine with me. let me know if you want pix.
thx,
