I see from his posts that b0b is playing a Desert Rose S-8.
Are the only one's(single eights) available the older one's that have been rebuilt, or is anyone building an eight string steel now.

Mine was built last year. It cost a bit more than an S-10 because some of the parts had to be custom machined. Chuck might be willing to make another one. Also, I think that Bill Rudolph (Williams Guitars) could make them pretty easily as his design adapts easily to a wider string spacing. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Thanks b0b,
I bought (and sold real quickly), a Fender student S-8 in the mid seventies. I had no use for it. I was just a guitar player who wanted to buy one of the guitars that was "bundled" with the steel and some other stuff.
I guess that I should have kept it. But then we'd all be geniuses when it'd come to hindsight.

Kevin, I saw a picture of an eight string Jackson Pro IV, I think.

Excel built a D-10/8 with a 10-string E9 neck and an 8-string C6 neck. The back neck has levers but no pedals. So I'd assume they'd be willing to build an S-8 if you ordered it...
