It was with great reluctance and with requests by some Steel Playin' fools ( make that friends) that I decided to post this project up here on the Forum.

As many of you may be aware , I have been writing and offering projects over there in EBAY land and have made many fine friends in the process. But this project strikes a different chord. We are huge fans of Connie Smith (aren't we all) Laney + Russ Hicks and Johnny Cox, so this project brings us into the presence of greatness. Bonnie and I are very pleased with this project and like many here have been working the bandstands for too long..make that way too long...

Once a Day..is one of the finest songs written, sang and played. You cannot play a gig with a female vocalist and not play this song. Period. Our offering is a simple version with the Steel and the Tele' working together, not against each other, supporting the vocal track. I have fully tabbed out each Steel line and the CD includes the song with the Steel and the track without the Steel so the player can play along. There is lots of room for the Steel player to stretch.. Consider it this way..when you get a call from Connie or Laney..or to fill in for Johnny..you will be ready to back them up!

The tune is a tad slower than the original version on purpose.

Used under license..

Nice Tony!!
Like the tone and clarity. Both the voice and the steel.
Great job!

Hi Roy.. many thanks for the nice comments..
This particular project , although simplistic in nature, has been pretty well received over there in EBAY land and thru EMAIL as well. These are fun projects to work on and when a few get acquired it really brings the fun level up a notch.

We have been fortunate with these single song projects and it is very much appreciated by those that have responded.

These projects are not about my playing but rather the fun and opportunity another player or early player can have playing over tracks that have lots of space for the Steel player without being stepped on by a guitar player, and I can say that with authority....I am a guitar player !

I recently received a copy of an MP3 of a project from another player playing over my track of Together Again which is one of the tunes I did..Let me just say this..it was awesome..I'm still trying to figure out that arrangement !

Happy Sunday

TP

Many thanks to those that EMAILED a note and ordered. I think you will have a good time with this one.

All that were ordered were mailed today.

And to answer a few questions:
I use a very simple Boss BR8..16 bit Digital 8 track. I record direct with input patches that I wrote on the BR8 for each Instrument. I write the drum patterns with an Alesis SR16 and sometimes use BIAB for the drum patterns. The Guitars and Bass are played live..or as alive as I can be at the time.

I am in the process of evaluating a few mid range 24 bit recorders, 16 or 18 tracks. Not sure which way I'll go yet. I'm pretty anxious.

many thanks
tp
