If interested please contact me at 540 660-1508 or at RLB01@HOTMAIL.COM (thats a 'zero one' in the email address). I'm in Front Royal VA.
Amp is vintage 1970's in 'Excellent Low" to "Average High" condition (my opinion based on Blue Book of Guitar Amplifiers). Age is estimated from component serial numbers and opinion of Scott Buffington. Serial number is 5115 but Scot has no records that far back. I picked it up at an auction in Edinburg VA. It works and sounds great - some hissing that diminishes as it warms up. Obviously wasn't gigged much because it smells fine and isn't all banged up. Scot Buffington (Evans Amps) says "you bought what many consider the holy grail of Evans amps". I'd like to find it a home with someone who'll appreciate it. I have additional detail photos. Data:
Speaker - 15" JB Lansing model M30 Serial AL10906
Power Transformer - Mohawk TP-880 serial 8837401
One Sylvania 6CS7 tube
Four RCA 7025 tubes
Two large and one small Mallory capacitors
Two RCA solid state components in heat sink
Large Accutronics magnet

I see you're new to the forum and I welcome you...But you may want to research items before you post them for sale. Evans amps are fantastic and are what I use. Good luck on your sale! |

Hi, I have a hybrid 300 as well, and the serial number is 5008. According to information I received from Jim Evans, it was built in 1975. These are indeed great amplifiers. Hope this helps to give you an idea of when yours might have been built.
best regards,
James Lombard |

Thanks for the info James. The transformer in my amp was manufactured in Jan 1974 (based on serial number) so mine was built sometime after that. You've narrowed it down to 1975. I'm new to this and have been searching for info. Does anyone know what the two small thumbscrew pots hidden in the back are for? One located near the tubes is labeled "Int Sens". The other one hidden behind the transformer is labeled "Hum Bal". I'm not touching either one!
Cheers, Rick |
