Yes, the Jam Day has come and gone, but it has left us with some tremendous memories. Things brightened up when I saw Donna Newberry carrying something into the Community Center. As I approached the open door I heard the beautiful sounds of music coming from, to my great surprise, Austin Stewart and Jerry Newberry and Jerry Foster. As the guys carried in our equipment, more steelers drove in and began setting up. Another wonderful scene was seeing Buddy Lewis and Cozette setting up the PA system. The reason that was such a great scene was the last time I saw Buddy, he was flat on his back in the hospital after that terrible accident. Buddy played bass for hours and didn't miss a lick. He must know a million tunes. Everybody's guitars, amplfiers, drums were ready to go. Terry Bethel walked in and the music started. There were 9 steels. Dino Strunk, on guitar, played out of sight as usual and Russ Burns, the drummer had the right beat for each song. Another added highlight, Bonnie Riley joined the band for several songs on her fiddle. She was really good. Russ and Buddy both did a masterful job singing and the beautiful food brought in by the ladies made the day complete!! There was a good group of listeners and it was truly a great afternoon!

We had a wonderful time yesterday. It was good to be back in Branson with all our friends. What a great bunch of people!
A nice Father's Day listening to my dad and my son playing steel guitar, along with the others. |

Ed, you sure missed some great music & fellowship, & we missed you to. Hope you recover & join us again real soon. These local steel pickers are still celebrities to me. Ozarks are full of a lot of musical talents. |

The four elected officers (including you, Jerry) are doing a great job and all the members of The Association are wonderful brothers and sisters and contributers for sure, but in my humble opinion, Leonard and Buddy Lewis are right at the top of the list -- |

Bill,
I totally agree with you. Without these two gentlemen our show would run even later than usual, if it got started at all.
Thanks to all of the people who support the Ozark Steel Guitar Association, the members, the wives and husbands of members, all the ladys that keep the jams supplied with lots of "GOODIES" and to you Bill Myrick for all the support you have given to the OZSGA and the fine photos that you take at the jams.
Charlie, Rosemary, Venda and Jerry a very special thanks from me.
We love you one and all,
Your (gimped up) president,
