Dunlop Steel Bar

I look for one Dunlop Steel bar with a narrower point, like the left one in the picture. The right one is a regular Emmons bar.

I've never seen a bar like that. What was the purpose? I'm guessing it would be easier to tap single strings with a pointy end.
