I have A6 on the back neck of my Emmons Legrande 2 and the 3 bottom gauges-.50,.56,/68 feel really loose and spongy. They go out of tune if you press the bar down at all. All the other strings feel great. Any suggestions? I am only a few years into this and not sure what to do. Thanks, TC |

Check out Herb Remington's A6 tuning in the copedant section on the forum. He has the gauges he uses.

Could not find copedant section or any Herb Remmington string gauges. I may just have to try lower gauges than the chart says to. Really dont like the mushy bass strings. |

Tom, go to the top of this page and click on "Links" then go to the top of that page and click on "Copedents" and scroll down the page. There's alot of different tunings on that page.

Thanks! I found it. I think the solution is to go back to the C6 gauges for the bass strings. Should do the trick. Thanks again |

You can also go to Fender's site and download the 400 or 1000 manual - their 8-strings were based on A6, but there's also chart with recommended gages for particular open notes. _________________ No chops, but great tone
