| Was playing the other night outside started to rain. Guitar did not get wet at all. Nashville 112 started to distort and sounded like a blown speaker. Switched to Session 500. Very low volume while playing and then BAM extra loud, then not much volume. Switched volume pedals samr problem. Seems it is something in the guitar wiring or pickup or neck selector switch. Even with the toggle swith on bypass it still did it. How do you test the switches and what about that little resistor in the wiring, could that be the problem????? |

John,
I would first eliminate the possibility of a cord issue by plugging the steel directly into an amp using a known good cord.
Your symptoms do not sound like a tone control issue, but could be a dirty selector switch or output jack. Or the output jack may need to be re-tensioned (bent) to make better contact with the tip of the 1/4 phone jack from the cord.
Its a D10 correct? try the C6 neck and see if it behaves the same.

| John...You might try inserting a short patch cord into the effects loops (send to return) to close the circuits. Often, if the effects loop jacks are unused for a period, they become dirty and will cause the problem you described. |

| Thanks guys It's not the amp Dave as I had problems with 2 different amps. Scott I think it could be the jack on the guitar I will try to tighten it up after all it's over 30 years old. |
