I know its been discussed before but I wanted to highlight it again. I just bought both their CD's as a Father's Day gift for my Dad and went ahead and "sampled" them.
If you like great fiddle music BUY THESE! I enjoy Joey's rhythm guitar as musch as the fiddling too! _________________ Bill Cunningham

I can tell you firsthand that the girls are not only ULTRA talented, but they are some of the sweetest people I have ever met. |

I remembered a detail from the workshop that the Quebe Sisters Band gave at the Strawberry Festival (posted earlier).
The girls said they were heavily influenced by the Mills Brothers. After checking out a couple of Youtube postings and listening to the Quebe's new album it is very obvious. These two especially:

Gary Carpenter plays (either steel or dobro or both) on their first CD.

I have their first CD, and there is definitely some great steel within. These gals and the whole touring troupe are something to be reckoned with. Yes, Joey is a great rhythm player. He and the bassplayer just put down a wonderful palette for these great kids to bounce off of.
I get an email from them now and then letting me know where they'll be playing and any other up and coming news.
They must have really grown up more by now. The CD I got was around 4-5 years ago, I think.
Thanks Bill, for a re-reminder. _________________ Chip

If I remember correctly, Joey is also an accomplished fiddle player, and was actually the original teacher for the girls. He's got to be proud of how well they've done. _________________ Lost Pines Studio

Kudos, Bill...
Thanks for that input.
Absolutely.
I had a hankerin' that Joe was, and maybe still is, behind the phenomenal success of these gals.
What I like most about Joe?
He's the most unassuming and laid-back guy in the world; esp, the MUSIC world.
Joe is a class act. _________________ Chip
