Johnny Seibert(?) was the subject of a recent
and still current thread and after checking him out
on the Carl Smith YouTube performance I just had to
give his turn-a-round/ break a try.

Hey Joe goes way back of course and I remember
trying to play this at about 14 years of age.
Never could get quite there but it made
life exciting attempting to learn this stuff. Very Happy

I use an 8 string steel on this clip and you need
an "A" note which is my 7th string. If you try this
on a 6 string you will have to tune your bottom "C"
note down to "A" and that should work..altho it may
be a little "wobbly". Sad

Please visit my ClicTab Site as per my signature
hereunder and "Steelinroy YouTube Site"

Everything I play I tab so email me for
information.

...really decent, Roy.
Johnny Sibert plays it in the A6th tuning in the key of D.

Really nice Roy!! I saw the title "Hey Joe" and I got all excited thinking that you were doing the Hendrix classic. Very Happy

Thank you for the comments!

I knew Johnny played it on his A6th tuning
from looking at the Carl Smith clip.

I did mine in C6th because it is the
tuning used by most of the Lap Steelers?
A6th is not as popular I'm thinking?

I kept my arrangement in D Major also.

Thanks again and all the best.

Roy
