Can anyone identify this Dobro model or when it is from? It has a serial number of 51030. Thought someone out there might know!

MLA-
We truly appreciate you helping us identify this Dobro. Sadly we have been assigned the task of selling the instruments for the family of a local musician who has passed away earlier this year. Some of these instruments are out of our area of expertise, so your help is quite appreciated by all!
Thanks,
Jay Rosen |

This guitar was made in Gardena, California in 1965. The Dobro company at that time was headed by Emil Dopyera Jr., with Rudy and Ed Dopyera's involvement, backed by a group of Tulsa investors. Gardena guitars had the serial numbers stamped on the end of the headstock like this one.
Mosrite bought the Dobro name in early 1966 and continued to make most of the same models. The only difference was that Mosrite stamped its serial numbers on the base of the fretboard, between the two highest frets. _________________ www.tomgraymusic.com |
