Scott Gerber, Cousin Elmo and yours truly:

http://b0blee.bandcamp.com/album/cowboy-country-revisited

I'm playing the 8 string Desert Rose through a Webb amp. Cousin Elmo's playing his Fender bass through my little Boogie amp, and Scott's strumming his Martin.

Free clams! There's no mixing at all. The whole album was recorded in the open air with just the Zoom H-2's internal mics.

Bob: I listened to "Walking the Floor" and "Roly Poly". Great old time feel. You did an excellent job handling all the intros, fills, solos, and outros. I would never have guessed that you only had eight strings. Thanks. Paul

I was pleased with how it came out. I think it's a good example of how the D6th tuning can be made to sound enough like E9th to satisfy most listeners and band leaders. There will always be E9th licks that I can't do on it, but it seems that steel players are the only ones who notice.

For the E9th approach, I use P1, P2 and all of the knee levers.
For the C6th approach, I use P3, P4, P5 and all levers except LKV.

b0b, the tone of your guitar was wonderful. I'm glad you guys got to have that session. Sounds like those little recorders work great, too!

That sure brings back a lot of memories re the days when you didn't have to use 2 truckloads of gear to get that nice ole country sound. Great job !!
I listened to all 20 and there's not a bad one in the lot.
