Terry, I wish I could play your show again this year, but I'm going through my change of life (women-o-pause) and putting life on hold for now. Put me down for next year. I may have emailed Dreadfulwater a few years aga, but I was in Army training with a Dreadfulwater from Oklahoma. Probably related.
You have a great lineup. Have a great time.

Terry, looks like a good line-up for a good show. It was good to see and visit with you in Siloam Springs. Maybe next year for me. Ray

I am looking forward to this great show as this will be my first time to play one of Terry's shows. As far as the birthday thing, June 5th is the big day, but at my age I try to forget instead of celebrating! I hope to see many of you there.

We have lots of pretty women in Missouri. I'm married to one of them.

We also have lots of good music in Missouri. And it will be concentrated in Marshfield on June 5. Come on out.

Bill, there are lots of pretty women everywhere. I have seen a bunch down your way. Very Happy

Next, Tyler was kidnapped from us, by that piratey crew in Branson. I can say that I used to fly under their flag. Winking

We added another great steel player Lonnie Detmer from Great Bend, Ks this weekend. He plays great and sounded very much like Jerry Byrd, when I heard him playing at the Baxter Springs, KS steel show last fall.

If you don't see your names on the list we will consider you for next year. There are so many great players and singers, we can't get everyone on every year.

Thanks and hope to see you all here on June 5th for the 5th Annual Steel Guitars in Concert and Herby's birthday!

Terry Wood is about to conduct the 5th Marshfield Steel Guitar Show. In these 5 years he has drawn talent from Alabama, Nashville, TN, Paducah, KY, Arkansas, Iowa and top pickers from Branson and other places. He has secured the services of a top MC man in the personage of Rob Parker. He has put together a band each year that seems to be the delight of all the steel players. For many years Terry Wood has been associated with the world of steel guitars and he's also a steel guitar player himself. Those that provide the food have been very efficient. The people in the kitchen have been very friendly and the prices are reasonable. What I'm trying to say is: Make June 5th a day to enjoy the beautiful music of the steel guitar in Marshfield, MO. It will be money and time well-spent! And of course, there will be a lot of good fellowship!!

Terry, can I come to your show? And did you ever get hold of Jim Gable? More than likely I will be there, if for nothing else but to bug Keith Hilton and to hug Virgil Watts. See you.

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for the kind remarks regarding our annual steel show here at Marshfield, MO.

I talked with Herby Wallace over the weekend and this is going to be a great show this year!

We have some special guest musicians coming in to help us this year too. Lisa Ray will be helping out with the fiddle. For those who don't know Lisa she is a great fiddle player and singer.

She has worked and recorded with Vince Gill, and others in Nashville, Branson elsewhere. Also a ladies bluegrass group that she is a member of, won a big Nashville award last year 2009 for best recorded event of the year.

Phil "Rooster" Armstrong is a melow cat from Joplin who plays a mean bluesy Country Sax. If you were there last year you heard what a great job he did! I had the priviledge of recording with him last year and he's a great sax player like Ace Cannon and Boots Randolph. We had a blast last year!

Others are coming to the show. We have a surprise vocalist or two But at ths time, I can't release names yet, because of their possibly being called elsewhere. However, there is still a good possibility they will be at Marshfield too.

Regardless, this is a show you will not want to miss!

Thanks!

I have a new pickup on my guitar and also have 2 new pedals. This makes 5 knee levers and 5 pedals on my 10 string E9th. The two extra pedals are Ralph Mooney pedals. Expect some Ralph Mooney type picking.

As I have in years past, I am posting directions to the show. I posted them in different colors for coming from different directions so they would be easy to tell apart.

If you want a map to the Jubilee Theatre, go to the following link, enter your address in Box A, and enter the address of the Jubilee Theatre in Box B. The address for the theatre is 109 E. Commercial, Marshfield MO 65706.

Here is the link (sorry I don't know how to make it pretty and short):
http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTExNmIycG51BF9TAzI3MTYxNDkEc2VjA2ZwLWJ1dHRvbgRzbGsDbGluaw--

Here are directions in written form:

COMING FROM THE WEST (SPRINGFIELD/JOPLIN/TULSA):
TAKE I-44 EAST TO EXIT 100 (MARSHFIELD)
TURN RIGHT ONTO HIGHWAY 38.
CONTINUE ON HIGHWAY 38 FOR ABOUT 1.5 MILES (THE ROAD WILL CURVE TWICE, BUT STAY ON IT).
YOU WILL COME TO A 4-WAY STOP.
TURN RIGHT AT THE FOUR WAY STOP ONTO CRITTENDEN STREET.
GO ONE BLOCK TO THE STOP SIGN. THE JUBILEE THEATER IS ON YOUR RIGHT. PARKING/ENTRANCE IS ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE BUILDING.

COMING FROM THE EAST (ROLLA/ST. LOUIS):
TAKE I-44 EAST TO EXIT 100 (MARSHFIELD)
TURN LEFT ONTO HIGHWAY 38.

COMING FROM THE SOUTHEAST (WEST PLAINS/POPLAR BLUFF/CAPE GIRARDEAU):
TAKE U.S. HIGHWAY 60 WEST TO DIGGINS (APPROX. 4 MILES WEST OF SEYMOUR)
JUST PAST DIGGINS, TURN RIGHT ON HIGHWAY A.
FOLLOW HIGHWAY A APPROX. 12 MILES.
IN MARSHFIELD, HIGHWAY A MAKES A SQUARE CORNER. JUBILEE THEATER IS RIGHT ON THAT CORNER. KEEP GOING STRAIGHT INTO THE PARKING LOT.

These directions should get you there. We hope you will come out June 5. Terry has a whale of a show lined up.
